South Cambridgeshire to home Syrian families

by johnwilliams on 22 March, 2019

Funded by the Government and with support from Cambridge City Council Liberal Democrat controlled South Cambridgeshire District Council are offering to provide homes for three to five families from war torn Syria.

Officers have confirmed that this humanitarian act will have a negligible adverse affect on housing homeless people in the district. Yet Tory councillors voted against it or abstained at last night’s scrutiny committee – disgraceful behaviour.

  1. Neil Scarr says:

They could be housed if homes were built, mainly for local people of course, on obvious building land close to the centre of Fool-born. We all know which bit, don’t we? Only it probably won’t happen, ‘cos the local Provisional Nimby Club will jump up and down and scream and shout a lot. ‘Cos the view from one’s bedroom window over fields is so much more important!

    Makes yer proud, don’t it?
