Has Fulbourn room for Ida Darwin housing?

by johnwilliams on 2 April, 2014

Fulbourn Health CentreFulbourn Primary School is to be enlarged again to accommodate the unexpected numbers of young families moving into the new Swifts Estate by using the old school building in School Lane.

The health centre building in Haggis Gap which is a branch of the Cornford House practice is in dire need of modernisation and enlargement to cater for the increase in families and ageing population.

In effect Fulbourn is now full and its facilities are bursting at the seams.

So is there now room for the Ida Darwin housing development without a massive section 106 contribution?

180 new homes will require substantial addition infrastructure to acommodate its impacts on the school and health centre, as well as the library, sports and youth centre.  Is the developer prepared to pay the full cost of accommodating this extra demand of the Ida Darwin development?

Without a substantial section 106 agreement Fulbourn has no room for this or any other large housing development.
