Fulbourn Primary School’s enlargement plans are published

by johnwilliams on 12 December, 2016

Last week Fulbourn Primary School showed plans to change and extend its buildings whilst maintaining their single height to increase its pupil capacity not only to meet the increasing number of children from the current village but also the development of the Ida Darwin Hospital site for up to 275 additional homes.

The hospital has already been designated for houses and is in the present South Cambridgeshire Local Development Framework and also the draft Local Plan presently undergoing public examination.

The future capacity of the school will also provide room for the other housing proposals so far known about.  But further large scale housing around the village cannot be accommodated due to the restricted nature of the school site.

If things go to plan following the granting of planning permission building work will start in the summer.
