Lib Dem Councillor for Fulbourn Learn more

After years of determined campaigning by local villages planning permission has been given for a shared path adjacent to the B1102 between Lode and Stow-cum-Quy and construction will start as soon as possible.
This path will not only give a safe route for cyclists commuting into Cambridge from the direction of Burwell and those visiting Anglesey Abbey and Wicken Fen but it will give Stow-cum-Quy residents the opportunity to cycle or walk safely to their schools and health centre in Bottisham.
This has been a brilliant example of what local communities can do if they come together with a common purpose.
The British Horse Society objected to the application wanting the shared path to be a bridleway to permit horse riding. I think given the clock was ticking to spend the grant from the Government that it was right to approve it without delay but look to accommodating their wishes in the future.
