Tory cuts hit road gritting

by johnwilliams on 20 October, 2016

This winter the number of roads being gritted will be drastically reduced as the result of Conservative and UKIP councillors setting a zero council tax increase for this year.

It means that Bottisham Village College could be cut off as the road it is on has been removed from the gritting programme – great for the kids but not so good for their education.  Also Pierce Lane the main bus route into the village will no longer be gritted and Little Wilbraham will be isolated.

Liberal Democrats called for a 2% increase in council tax to avoid this and other cuts to essential services but Conservatives and UKIP put their ideologies before the interests of our communities.

Lets hope for a mild winter.
