Ofsted slams Cambridgeshire Academies for failing disadvantaged children

by johnwilliams on 5 April, 2016

Andrew Cook, Regional Her Majesty’s Inspector for Ofsted has expressed concerns about educational outcomes in the Academy secondary schools in Cambridgeshire in a letter sent to the Regional Schools Commissioner.

In particular Ofsted is particularly concerned at the worsening achievement by children from disadvantaged backgrounds compared to their peers.

This is something that comes up time and again as the Academies in Cambridgeshire sell short those that need the most attention to achieve their potential.

Only the Conservative Government can take action on this as it has put Academies beyond local authority control but so far they are reluctant to even acknowledge that their education policy can fail let alone do something about it.
